Ubiquia will kick off this month by raising funds and awareness to support the fight to cure multiple sclerosis in honor of the MS community.
Multiple Sclerosis (MS) hits close to home for the Ubiquia family. Angela Swanson, wife of Ubiquia’s Chief Viking, Dale Swanson was diagnosed with MS in 2009.
MS is a chronic disease where the body’s immune system directly attacks the brain, spinal cord, and optic nerves that make up the central nervous system (CNS). The attacks cause damage to the healthy tissue and begins to disrupt the flow of information between the brain and the body.
At this time, doctors have not been able to trace a definite cause. However it has proven to be unpredictable and often creates emotional, physical, and financial hardships for both the victim and those around them. Our Ubiquian family is no exception.
“Living with MS is frustrating. This disease seems to randomly and arbitrarily attack its victims affecting virtually every part of their bodies. It’s also quite baffling to the patient to navigate the multitude of differing opinions from healthcare and dietary professionals,” says Dale.
Ubiquians will participate in the #Color2CureMS campaign on May 15th. 2015 by coloring their hair to voice their support. Ubiquia will be donating $50 for every employee on their behalf to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society chapter in Arizona.
“Even though our voice may be small, I’m proud of my team standing up to fight MS. I hope our campaign helps The National MS Society fight this terrible disease,” adds Dale.
In addition, Ubiquia would like to encourage others to join our campaign on social media. A winner will be selected for the best hair coloring, and Ubiquia will donate $100 in their name.
